PurposeThis agreement sets out the terms and conditions of the counselling services provided.
Nature of CounsellingCounselling is a collaborative process where the client and counsellor work together to explore issues and develop strategies for change. While counselling can be highly beneficial, outcomes cannot be guaranteed. The client understands they are responsible for their progress and decisions made during and after therapy. You are free to end counselling at any time, and the counsellor may also end counselling with appropriate notice if necessary.
Professional StandardsThe counsellor is a member of NZCA and abides by its ethical framework and standards of practice. Regular supervision is undertaken to ensure safe and effective practice.
Commitment to the ProcessCounselling works best when both parties are committed to the process. Regular attendance and openness make the difference.
Session Fees & PaymentSession Fee: $________ per session (typically 50 minutes).
Payment must be made on the day of the session or in advance via Bank transfer or cash.
Receipts can be provided upon request.

24 hours’ notice is expected when canceling or rescheduling an appointment.
Missed sessions without notice will be charged at the full session rate.
(Exceptions may be made in cases of emergency at the discretion of the counsellor.)
ConfidentialityAll information shared within counselling sessions is treated as confidential and will not be disclosed to any third party without your consent,
except in the following circumstances:
- If the counsellor believes you or someone else is at serious risk of harm.
- If there is a legal obligation to disclose information.
- If there is disclosure of abuse or neglect of a child or vulnerable adult.
